Japanese Porcelain Painting Class

~Held at a lacquerware wholesaler with a history of 100 years~

We have plates with popular designs of "Hokusai," "Sharaku," and "Utamaro" printed on them so that even inexperienced people can easily paint colors on them.

You can choose from 3 types of picture plates. (If you have a preference, please let us know when you sign up)

●　Katsushika Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa"
A powerful masterpiece depicting a ship heading towards Nihonbashi.

●　Toshusai Sharaku's "Kabuki Actor Otani Oniji III as Yakko Edobei"
A mysterious masterpiece of Sharaku depicting the actors who were active in the theaters around Nihonbashi.

●　Kitagawa Utamaro's "Young Woman Blowing a Popen (glass noisemaker)'"
A beautiful ukiyo-e print of a graceful beauty published by Tsutaya Juzaburo, who had a store in Nihonbashi Odenmacho.

We offer Shirakaratsu plates. The natural texture of the clay blends in with the picture and creates an even more atmospheric atmosphere.
Also, we have framed tiles available for those who want to hang them on the wall. (Please make a reservation in advance.)

After a demonstration by the instructor, let’s start painting.
You can color it exactly as shown in the sample, or you can arrange it to your own favorite colors and patterns.

The class will be held in small groups and with careful attention to detail.

*Firing takes a minimum of three days.
We are unable to deliver the works, so please come to the store later to pick them up.
